Chelsea Ladies are the sole British team to go through the last 16 Round in the Champions League as Liverpool and Glasgow were eliminated in the last 32 round by Brescia and Chelsea in the battle of Britain.

Chelsea Ladies are newcomers in the competition and have a small coefficient so will therefore not be seeded in the last 16 round.

The seedings are decided by the club coefficient ranking which is generated from the previous five years’ club coefficient ranking plus a third of the association’s ranking.

In Chelsea’s case their ranking is  0 + 19.140 = 19.140 and they are ranked 11th overall.

Here are the full ranking and seedings.

Round of 16 dates: 11/12 November & 18/19 November

Chelsea will hope to avoid playing Zvezda as it would mean as 4,500 mile return trip and an average temperature of -5.5c

Frankfurt, Olympique Lyonnais, PSG, Wolfsburg and Rosengard would be a tough and interesting test of the Blues’ credentials as those five sides are top teams.

Fortuna Hjorring are also a good team but certainly beatable by Chelsea while Barcelona would certainly be the easiest draw, especially when you consider that Bristol Academy eliminated Barcelona last season at the same stage of the competition.

The draw will be made on Monday 19th October, with Chelsea playing the first leg at home and the second leg away.
