Mesut Ozil grabbed his seventh league assist of the season as he set up Olivier Giroud for Arsenal’s opener against Everton on Saturday afternoon.

With four assists and two goals in his last four games, the German is certainly enjoying something of a purple patch but what we are seeing hailed by the media is nothing more than he has been doing since he arrived – the difference is that he is finally getting players to put away the chances, and the media are paying attention to him more.

So, it will be surprising to some (but not those who have been paying attention) that at just the start of his third season in England, the player often called lazy and disinterested by morons, has the lowest Premier League games per assist than any other player:

The rest of his in game numbers weren’s too bad either

Ya, Gunners, Ya!
