Arsenal’s 3-0 demolition of Manchester United on Sunday helped the Gunners go ahead of the Red Devils in the Premier League.

A shaky start to the season saw Arsenal drop points at home to West Ham United and Liverpool, but a revival in the league now leaves us in second and just two points behind Manchester City.

Four wins from the last five Premier League games means Arsenal fans have plenty of reasons to be optimistic, and Aaron Ramsey certainly is.

“I think we are in a good position, we are on a good run in the league, hopefully we can keep that up,” the Welsh midfielder said after the 3-0 win on Sunday. “It’s always nice to beat Manchester United and we will enjoy this win tonight.”

The Gunners now lead Manchester United on goal difference and have an eight point advantage over last season’s champions Chelsea, who lost again over the weekend. Now we have to put in similar displays to the one against United to keep picking up points. The more pressure we put on City, the better.

The win was a huge lift after a frustrating midweek loss to Olympiacos, and Ramsey is now eyeing up the games against Bayern Munich as a way to hit back further.

“We need to get back to winning ways in the Champions League now as well. We are still in all of the competitions. We want to compete in all of them.”

With no points from the opening two Champions League games and back-to-back clashes with Bayern Munich to come, we have a huge task on our hands. Play like Sunday and we have a chance.
