We all saw Aaron Ramsey limp off the pitch with a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Bayern Munich.

Used in different roles, both Ramsey and Santi Cazorla have been the Gunners’ top iron men, leading the team in total minutes played.

Ramsey and Cazorla have been Arsenal’s iron men this season.

In fact, Ramsey has appeared in every match except for the 2-1 loss to Dinamo Zagreb. Having scored for Wales and against Watford at the weekend it appeared he was just returning to full form.

Although he’s had his critics for a lack of scoring earlier in the season, this injury comes as a pretty hard blow to the squad, as Arsenal will also miss an effective Ramsey-Özil-Alexis midfield combination that was also starting to come into its own.

It is currently unknown how severe Ramsey’s hamstring injury is, however, he could be out anywhere between 21 to 33 days given last year’s record, meaning he’d miss the return fixture against Bayern Munich as well as the north London derby.

Arsenal are still without Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere, so Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is nailed on to take Ramsey’s place in the side.
