Although it has to be said the whole team performed spectacularly against Manchester United, there were a few players who really stood out.

A rapid, sharp start gave Arsenal a 3-0 lead against the Red Devils within 20 minutes and while we did bring the pace down slightly as the game wore on, we kept our structure, defended as a team and stopped United from taking their chances.

Petr Cech – 9

The experienced goalkeeper stopped Anthony Martial with his foot in the first half when the striker went one-on-one with him and then in the second half made two fantastic saves from Rooney and Schweinsteiger’s chances.

Hector Bellerin – 8.5

The right-back was so useful going forward. His pace was unbelievable and he was incredibly effective on the break.

Gabriel – 8

The centre-back snuffed out any threat from Martial easily and was calm throughout.

Per Mertesacker – 7.5

Although the German made a good headed clearance in the first half, he could have been quicker in other clearances, especially with Martial lurking around him.

Nacho Monreal – 8.5

The classy Spaniard was calm throughout, despite the high-tempo match. He stayed back as Bellerin went forward and made sure we were secure at the back.

Francis Coquelin – 8

The Frenchman put in a couple of stunning slide tackles but had a habit of breaking down our attacks.

Aaron Ramsey – 8.5

The midfielder put pressure on Young so he couldn’t move. He should have put his chance from Alexis away but other than that, he had a fantastic game.

Santi Cazorla – 9

The midfield maestro was slick in his passing, clever and his movement was unreal. Outstanding performance.

Mesut Ozil – 9.5

An assist and a goal for our German playmaker made this one of his standout performances of the season so far. The midfielder ran the show and was instrumental in our attacks. Take that haters.

Alexis Sanchez – 10

The Chilean carried on his tremendous form after his hat-trick against Leicester and goal against Olympiacos by scoring a brace. The forward is so exciting to watch – his second goal actually made me tear up.

Theo Walcott – 9.5

Although he didn’t score, he got two assists and was a constant threat. The forward didn’t stop running or working, both up front and in defence.

Olivier Giroud – 7

Although he had minimal time on the pitch, the big guy had a chance on goal and if he’d been on longer, he probably would have scored.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7

The Ox hit the bar in the dying seconds and although he couldn’t find the net, his confidence appears to be returning.

Kieran Gibbs – N/A
