Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has potentially compared Arsenal to coffee, referring to the balance within the current team as a perfect ‘blend’.

The former Gunner believes that this balance is what breeds success and that at the moment we have the right combination of players to win silverware.

However, this isn’t a problem that Wenger’s always had. In fact, at times over recent seasons our squad has been tested and stretched to its limits. Now that we actually have several quality players in most positions, it’s a welcome ‘problem’ having to pick who starts.

“I think it’s going to be tough for the manager to create space for all those players, but that’s a good problem to have,” said Parlour.

“Wenger has good characters all over the pitch – Monreal, Cazorla, even Mesut Ozil has got much better.

“And the British players are important, having that core of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere is vital.

“It’s just about getting the right blend,” he continued.

“We had that blend when we were successful, with the French guys complimenting the rest of the squad.

“I think he’s on the way to having that again.”

People appear to genuinely see the potential in this current team. The way we’re gelling on the pitch is exciting to see and there appears to be a general feeling of cautious optimism surrounding the team. The 3-0 win over Manchester United appears to be a real turning point in how others view our team.
