Romelu Lukaku has admitted that he would love to play under Arsene Wenger – but only if he couldn’t get to play for Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola.

While being third on the list is not great, when you actually look at the calibre of managers on there, it’s clear to see that amongst players, at least, Arsene Wenger is held in the highest esteem.

“Guardiola and Wenger. In that order.”

Whether Arsene would be interested in the 22-year-old, it’s hard to say but one thing is clear – even if he was, Everton would demand a massive fee for the player they signed from Chelsea for a club-record £28m.

And if Arsenal matched that price (or bettered it) there’s no guarantee that the Toffees would sell, with Roberto Martinez standing strong in the face of immense pressure from Chelsea in regards to John Stones this summer.

It was an admirable move and one I’d like to see from more clubs, if I’m honest.

Then again, I’ve always had a soft spot for Everton.
