Is Arsenal midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide an option in Munich?

Injuries to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott have left Arsène Wenger with only Joel Campbell and Alex Iwobi to choose from on the right flank at Swansea on Saturday.

Campbell, 23, has experience but has not been trusted with any Premier League action so far this season. Iwobi is 19 and yet to play more than the 90 minutes of professional football he managed against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening.

But there may be another option for Wednesday night’s trip to Bayern Munich. Registered for Champions League action is teenager Jeff Reine-Adelaide, and he could be available.

The lanky Frenchman excited fans during the Emirates Cup in the summer after joining from RC Lens and is very much a favourite of Wenger’s. He was included in the Champions League squad back in September, surely for an eventuality such as this one?

France u17s have been at the U17 World Cup and walked through the group stage until a goalless draw in the last 16 against Costa Rica went to penalties on Thursday night. Reine-Adelaide stepped up and converted his penalty but his teammates couldn’t do the same and he will be heading back to London.

Whether or not he will return in time, or is fit enough, to travel to Munich remains to be seen but the attacking midfielder could be used if he does return from Chile in the next day or two.

Why not unleash Jeff against Bayern Munich?
