Watford striker Odion Ighalo has admitted nobody in England plays better football than Arsenal ahead of Saturday’s clash.

The two teams meet at Vicarage Road on Saturday for the first time since 2007, when Ighalo was just starting his career in the Nigerian National League.

Now 26 years old, he has impressed in English football. The Nigerian was on loan at Watford from Udinese last season and scored 17 goals in his last 19 appearances in the Championship to fire the Hornets into the Premier League. Averaging a goal every 69 minutes from the end of December to the end of the season convinced Watford to sign him permanently.

Now in the Premier League, he has picked up where he left off. His five goals in eight appearances have won Watford seven of the 10 points they have picked up so far this season, but he knows he faces tough opposition on Saturday.

“Arsenal is doing well at the moment, so it won’t be easy, but we hope for the three points,” Ighalo told africanfootball.com, fresh from scoring his second goal for Nigeria on Sunday.

“Yes we are ready to go, it’s not going to be easy for us. Arsenal plays the best football in England but we are going to try and do something in the game.”

“Our target is to try and play good football, defend well and take any opportunities that come our way to score goals. My target is to help my team play well and score goals.”

There’s no doubt Arsenal face a man who is, currently, one of the most in form striker in football on Saturday. He’s not as well known as Robert Lewandowski, who will be at the Emirates Stadium with Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, but he will be a threat.

Hopefully we are prepared for Ighalo and prove him right. After all, he does think we play the best football in England.
