Chuba Akpom has been hailed by Hull’s manager, Steve Bruce, after he found the net again against Ipswich this week.

The striker scored Hull’s second goal as the Tigers won 3-0, moving Hull up to fourth in the Championship and strengthening their push for promotion.

“He’s going to be a very very good player,” Bruce said.

“He’s still got a lot to learn. He’s still got to keep his feet on the ground and work hard at it but we’re starting to see him.

“Again he’s still a young player and I’m sure he’s got a long way to go.”

Akpom’s goal was his second in the Championship this season in 12 appearances (averaging just over 60 minutes per game), while he also scored in the League Cup, giving him an overall ratio of one goal every 296 minutes – a rate he will certainly be looking to improve if he is to have an impact at Arsenal in the long-term.

The match against Ipswich was the first full 90 minutes that Chuba had played for Hull for a few weeks and only the third time he’s played the full match in the league since joining on a season long loan.
