The much coveted Daily Cannon player of the month award for September goes to Theo Walcott.

After very little deliberation, everyone at Daily Cannon came to the swift agreement that the England man was most deserving of the award this month.

Walcott scored four times for the Gunners in September, starting four of our six games and netting a goal every 90.5 minutes. He could have had more had his finishing been a little sharper, but the signs were very encouraging as he enjoyed his first real spell as a striker under Arsène Wenger.

Two Champions League defeats have seen the striker be our only bright spark, scoring in the European competition in two consecutive games for the first time in his career as well as assisting Alexis’ goal against Olympiacos.

Now onto 80 Arsenal goals, Walcott isn’t far from the century. Let’s hope we are lucky enough to see it before the season is over.
