Oğuzhan Özyakup left Arsenal after appearing 41 times for our youth squad and has played for Besiktas since 2012.

However, the midfielder could be looking at a return to the Premier League as West Ham are reportedly interested in signing him for £10m. Interestingly, Arsenal are also apparently looking at buying the 23-year-old back.

Özyakup has played seven times this season for the Turkish team, scoring one goal and assisting four, and the Hammers are supposedly keen. I see the east London team as a far more likely destination for the youngster.

It’s not Arsenal’s style to buy back players for several times what we sold them for. I don’t see us buying another midfielder, who we already had the chance to develop, who isn’t any better than who we already have in that position.

With that being said, it’d be good to see Özyakup back in London playing in the Premier League.
