With Bayern Munich looming on the horizon and most people with some semblance of sanity hoping that Arsene Wenger turns to Petr Cech in goal instead of David Ospina, the Cech keeper has said that he understands why the boss chose his understudy in the two Champions League games already played.

Ospina threw a massive rick during the game against Olympiacos, and while his single error was not what ultimately cost the team the game, it certainly didn’t help matters and was just another mistake to add to his increasing catalogue of ridiculousness.

It would seem to us mere mortals that Wenger, with Champions League survival hanging by a thread, should opt to play his strongest keeper for the visit of the Germans, but we all know that there is he possibility that he will stick by Ospina.

And that’s something Cech seems ok with.

“At Arsenal you hope to play 60 games in a season, which means you continue in every competition until the end, until the finals, to challenge for the trophies and medals,” Cech told the London Evening Standard.

“This is where you need to make sure everyone is refreshed and ready for the longevity of the season.”

Hopefully, despite playing against Watford in the Premier League on Saturday, Wenger views Cech as refreshed enough to face Bayern.

What is already a huge task would grow exponentially if we have to do it with Dave in goal.
