Petr Cech returned to Amsterdam to face the Netherlands with the Czech Republic national team and while there was reunited with goalkeeping legend, Edwin van der Sar.

The keepers would have faced each other numerous times while Van der Sar played for Manchester United and Cech for Chelsea.

The 33-year-old also went on to reminisce about his former team’s Champions League win in Holland, which is bound to annoy a few Arsenal fans.

“A nice surprise to meet such a legend,” Cech said. “As it is also a nice touch is that I’m back in Amsterdam, because I’m here with Chelsea won the Champions League. Then we have tomorrow but win, then that is the third nice surprise.”

Whenever one of our players talks about their former team with fondness, it’s a bit like when your current partner talks about their ex. You understand that they were part of their life and it’s natural to relate and compare experiences, but you don’t necessarily want to hear about it.

Cech winning the Champions League with Chelsea was a huge highlight of his career and him wanting to talk about it is understandable, but as an Arsenal fan it’s not nice to hear about how great his former team – our rivals – were.
