Petr Cech is likely to be recalled to Arsenal’s Champions League squad for the double-header against Bayern Munich according to reports in Thursday’s papers.

The call would seem like a no-brainer, after all, David Ospina has done his best to ensure that he never gets selected ever again, but I would be very surprised if Arsene Wenger was going to leave the former Chelsea man on the bench against the German Champions, regardless of how Ospina performed.

The argument could be made that we were all very surprised with the decision to leave Cech out on Tuesday night, and that would be true, but you should be able to trust your number two keeper against a side of the quality of Olympiacos. Provided he has hands that aren’t made of bricks, of course.

The report regarding Cech’s recall featured in the Daily Mail, whom, as we all know, are a dirty rag of a paper, but their football section is relatively reliable when it comes to actual news.

I said ‘relatively’.

Anyway, regardless of all that, it’s hard to know how they know this information so far in advance, but it would seem like common sense.

Not that that has counted for much recently.

It was hinted at that Cech had an injury ahead of the game but given he trained as normal on Monday before the game, this seems rather unlikely.

We could be wrong though, but what you do you think?
