Arsenal have already been linked with Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, now another Algerian winger is being touted for a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Yacine Brahimi of FC Porto is the man in question, with Tuttomercatoweb suggesting Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG could rival each other for the player.

The problem for Arsenal, if interest is real, would be the price. Porto never sell cheap and the Gunners would struggle to compete with the financial power of PSG and Chelsea, who are both backed by wealthy owners.

Brahimi has had a disappointing start to the new season but caused Chelsea some problems on Tuesday night as the Portuguese side defeated José Mourinho’s men 2-1 in the Champions League. Last season the Algerian was far more influential, scoring five goals in nine Champions League appearances to truly prove his worth at the very highest level.

Arsenal only have Alexis Sánchez on the left wing right now and, with Theo Walcott playing centrally, aren’t exactly blessed with depth on the right either.

The Gunners could definitely do with a talented and versatile wide player but could Brahimi be that man?

At the price Porto usually command for their players this seems highly unlikely, though we can expect Arsène Wenger’s men to be linked with plenty more wide player over the next few months.
