An eventful match, 2 goals, none in our net, and hope in Champions League restored – all in one night! Add a few beers to that, and I’m seriously close to giving every player a 10!

First win in our 3rd group stage match – long overdue, but oh so great! Goals from sub Giroud and (finally) Özil secure the win for Arsenal against Bayern, Germans’ first loss after 12 wins in all competitions.

Petr Čech – 10

Amazing performance by our first choice goalkeeper – makes you wonder even more what would have been if he started the two previous Champions League matches! He made some amazing saves, much like his colleague on the other side. One of the MOTMs for Arsenal in this match, if it wasn’t for him – we’d be much less happy.

Hector Bellerin – 8

Hector was on top of his game as much as he could have been. You might run into a couple of YouTube/Vine clips of Bayern’s Costa running around him and selling him tricks, but he was good besides that, just like we expect from him. He was even getting better and better as match went on and provided the assist for Özil’s goal.

Laurent Koscielny – 8

He did what was asked of him, cleared the balls when needed and looked more confident than over the weekend. Good match.

Per Mertesacker – 8

So many people expected him to fail miserably when facing Lewandowski, but him and Kos kept him quiet and kept our net empy. Good match, looked better and better as it went on!

Nacho Monreal – 8

A statue for Monreal? It wouldn’t be wrong. He’s been one of our most consistent players this season and he had another great match against Bayern.

Francis Coquelin – 8

8 is the new 10! Kidding, he also was on top of his game, did everything what was asked of him and even had a shot on goal in 1st half (though it went wide). No card for him either, so yay!

Aaron Ramsey – 7

Aaron was a bit quiet over the match, and got injured in 2nd half. Hopefully his hamstring won’t keep him out for long – but we’ll see. He had one miss in 1st half, but worked tirelessly.

Santi Cazorla – 7.5

Santi was okay, present, didn’t do a great deal but he was there and trying. I hope he’ll score soon, seems like he could use it.

Mesut Özil – 8.5

Oh Mesut. He is so “quiet” but he’s always there! It’s such a pleasure to watch him. He continues with his great form, he even managed to score at the end! He *might* have done more but it’s just the way he is.

Alexis Sanchez – 6.5

For a second there I thought it was Alexis from few weeks ago. He was keeping the ball for too long and didn’t do much. Subbing him was a good decision by Wenger.

Theo Walcott – 7

Goalless tonight even though he had quite a few chances. All of his shots looked too weak to me, but he did create chances for himself and found himself in good positions. A shame Neuer saved that header!

SUBS

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6.5

He came on for injured Ramsey and practically continued in his steps, didn’t do much but looked okay.

Olivier Giroud – 8

Savior from the bench! No more FFS Giroud! I have been seeing people saying he’s the best Plan B ever, and I tend to agree. Great (with some luck) goal by him and had one more chance too (which looked much easier to score to me). Good solution off the bench!

Kieran Gibbs – N/A
