Alexis shook off an injury concern to play the full 90 minutes and score as Chile saw off Brazil on Thursday night.

The forward was a doubt after a groin injury suffered in Sunday’s win against Manchester United, but managed to play the entire game for La Roja in their first qualifying match for the 2018 World Cup.

Eduardo Vargas scored the opener with 18 minutes remaining after Alexis had hit the post in the first half as Chile looked for their first win against Brazil in 15 years.

The Arsenal man continued his great form and sealed the win with a late goal after darting towards the area, playing a pass out wide and receiving the ball again in front of goal to spark wild celebrations. Hopefully he didn’t suffer any sort of discomfort to the injury he already had and will return to England completely fine after Chile’s next game.
