Gedion Zelalem has been impressing during his short spell in Scotland with Rangers.

The youngster was signed on loan until January and has already shown that he is not only capable of mixing it with players with much more experience, but that he can also cope with the rigours of life in the Scottish Championship despite being built like a twig.

Still to get on the scoresheet, he has managed to grab four assists already this season in just 477 minutes of senior football with the ‘Gers.

Recently, he undertook a Q&A session with fans sending in their questions via Twitter and Facebook and revealed that he is targeting being an Arsenal regular within the next five years. Plus getting his hands on some trophies.

“[In five years time] Hopefully [I’ll be] a regular in Arsenal’s first team, a regular for the US national team, to have played in a World Cup and lifted trophies.”

Asked whom he looked up to the most in the Arsenal side Gedion said “Mesut Özil or Santi Cazorla but they are all really good guys. Özil is an unbelievable player because of his composure and Cazorla’s technique is out of this world.”

While he also talked about what it felt like to play for Arsenal at such a young age “It was a dream come true, I couldn’t believe it at first because Mathieu Flamini wasn’t out or anything and he just put me on.

“They were winning 3-0, which was a good thing and a bad thing because in the second-half Galatasaray just had the ball and I was defending for most of it.

“So I would have loved to have been on the ball more but we got the win so it was fine.”
