Dinamo Zagreb defender Leonardo Sigali has warned Arsenal that the Croatian’s are in good form ahead of the midweek clash.

Arsenal’s first Champions League group game of the season sees the Gunners travel to Zagreb, where they will face the Croatian side on Wednesday night. Arsenal haven’t played in Zagreb since 2006, when they claimed a 3-0 away win, but Sigali feels the hosts can pull off a much more impressive result this time around.

“We are playing so well,” the defender said after a 4-0 win on Friday night. The Croatian side beat Lokomotiva, also of Zagreb, and the Argentinian even found himself on the scoresheet.

“If we play against Arsenal like we did against Lokomotiva, who knows what can happen.

“At a full Maksimir Stadium we are confident. Arsenal need to take us seriously or they are in for a surprise. We are creating chances and looking dangerous.”

The Arsenal players are experienced in Europe and used to hostile atmosphere all over the continent, playing both internationally and for the club in the Champions League. The players must know by now that they can never be complacent, even when they are heavy favourites.

In a Champions League group with Bayern Munich, Arsenal can’t afford to take any games lightly as every point could be vital. You’d have to trust Arsène Wenger and his team to know that heading into Wednesday evening.
