West Bromwich Albion flop Brown Ideye is looking forward to finally playing against Arsenal on Tuesday night.

The Nigeria international signed for the Baggies last summer for a club record £10m but started just 13 Premier League games. He was an unused substitute for both of West Brom’s fixtures against the Gunners, but could finally play at the Emirates Stadium when he and his new Olympiacos team-mates face Arsène Wenger’s men on Tuesday.

“I am really looking forward to the game against Arsenal at the Emirates and returning to England,” Ideye said in an interview with ESPN FC. “I never played against Arsenal when I was at West Brom and it will be a great test to come up against such a strong team as Arsenal.

“There is a lot at stake as both teams lost their opening games in the group and we are hoping we can get a positive result in London.”

The striker is yet to score for his new club, but does insist he has settled in well after his move near the end of the transfer window.

“Everything has been going good since I moved to Olympiacos and everyone at the club has helped me settle in.

“Olympiacos are a massive club with a big history and I am honoured to play for them.

“Playing in the Champions League was also one of the main attractions to leave West Brom for Olympiacos as it the best competition you can play in against the best players.”

Despite scoring just four Premier League goals in his one season in England, Ideye doesn’t think there is any pressure on him to perform.

“I do not feel I have anything to prove to people in England when I return to play against Arsenal,” the striker insisted. “I just want to repay the faith shown in me by Olympiacos by scoring the goals to help them achieve success this season.”

I would like to wish him all the best in Greece, I just hope he doesn’t net his first Olympiacos goal against Arsenal.
