Although Mesut Ozil managed to bag a stunning chipped assist for Alexis Sanchez’s second goal against Leicester, Arsene Wenger has admitted that he’s disappointed that the German couldn’t score himself.

Addressing the press after the 5-2 win, Wenger made it clear that although Ozil put in a fantastic performance, it’s frustrating that he couldn’t score and apparently no one will be more disappointed than the playermaker himself.

“[Ozil’s assist] was classy and the little frustration I have today is that he could not score a goal or the chance he had,” Wenger said. “He is really upset because he know he needs a goal as well but the ball he gave to Alexis was fantastic.”

The assist against the Foxes brings Ozil’s tally up to three for the season and now he’s finally clicking with Alexis, it looks as if this is set to skyrocket.

After a lengthy period out last season due to a knee injury, the German could only manage to assist nine and score five, nowhere near his record at Real Madrid. The playmaker will therefore be looking to improve on both these fronts this season and it appears that the boss reckons he’s more than capable of doing so.
