Arsenal’s 3-2 loss to Olympiacos came as a huge shock and a massive disappointment inside the dressing room, as well as on the terraces.

That’s according to Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, who spoke to the press after the game.

“We played four away games before tonight,” the Arsenal boss said. “We played Zagreb, Chelsea, Tottenham and then Leicester. Tonight is the first game at home. We are disappointed. Are you surprised? A disappointment is enough.”

That feeling of disappointment may linger for a little while after another humbling defeat to inferior opposition.

It feels even worse coming at home and, after just two matches, Arsenal are staring down the barrel of elimination from the Champions League. There are four games left to play but two are against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who have scored eight goals and are yet to concede in their opening two Group F fixtures.

Another season in Europe seems set to end in disappointment for everyone, but this one has come sooner than ever.

Do Arsenal have it in them to turn it around?
