Arsenal’s u19s got their Champions League campaign off to the best possible start with a 2-0 win in Croatia thanks to goals from Chris Willock and Ben Sheaf.

Coming up against a well-drilled defence, Arsenal took 44 minutes to finally make a breakthrough; Willock bursting past three Zagreb defenders before making his way into the box and finding the bottom corner.

It was quite the goal and was greeted by a standing ovation from the home fans:

Arsenal’s lead was doubled in the second half with 66 minutes on the clock as Ben Sheaf slotted home from the penalty spot when Savvas Mourgos had been fouled in the box after speeding past two defenders.

Although Zagreb hit the post late on, the young Guns held their nerve, and their lead, making sure they claimed maximum points in their group opener.

Let’s hope the seniors can follow suit.
