Before dislocating his fingers against Barcelona (Luis Suarez strikes again), Wojciech Szczesny put in an impressive display for Roma in the Champions League.

The Pole, who is currently on a season long loan at the Serie A team, made his fourth appearance for the club against the La Liga giants and despite letting in one goal from Suarez, the 25-year-old made some solid saves.

Roma equalised in the 31st minute with a 60-yard stunner from Alessandro Florenzi.

For Szczesny to start in such an important match for Roma is a huge step for him and proof that not only is he getting some serious game time while on loan, but is also improving.

After we signed Petr Cech from Chelsea, many (myself included) weren’t sure how loaning the younger goalkeeper out would affect his career at Arsenal. However, he appears to be doing just fine and after he recovers from his injury, hopefully he can pick up where he left off.
