Mesut Özil started in Frankfurt as German won their European Championship qualifying game against Poland on Friday night.

The Arsenal playmaker shook off a knee problem to help his country to a crucial win, though he couldn’t get on the scoresheet himself.

Özil was involved in the build up for the first goal and released goalscorer Thomas Müller with a stunning through ball later on in the first half, only for the chance to be wasted.

There is one more international fixture before Özil returns to club duty. Hopefully he stays fit and continues to showcase this fantastic form.
