Mesut Ozil gets a hard time, mostly from people who aren’t smart enough to actually watch him play.

Grabbing a lovely assist on Saturday for Theo Walcott against Stoke, it will come as no surprise to you, if you’ve been paying attention, that the German leads the way in chance creation for 2015.

Over the course of the last eight and a bit months, Ozil has carved out a whopping 76 chances for his teammates in just 20 games – more than any other player in the Premier League.

He’s missed a total of three league games in 2015, four if you count him being an unused sub against Man City on 18th January.

None of this stops people claiming that Eden Hazard and David Silva are significantly superior players or that Ozil is lazy and doesn’t deliver enough.

Idiots.
