The Telegraph are today claiming that Arsenal’s transfer business for this window is done and that there will be no more arrivals before the window closes.

With fans everywhere glued to their phones and computers in the hope of a last-minute deal coming out of thin air, Jeremy Wilson has claimed that Arsenal’s main target for this window was a new goalkeeper in Petr Cech and with him already being signed, that’s their business done.

He also states that the club have made a number of enquiries for other players, namely Edinson Cavani, but have received little encouragement and, as of Monday night, with it looking like the club will not be able to sign any established players who would significantly improve the squad, nothing more will be happening.

He does, however, add the caveat of “barring a flurry of activity in the final hours of the window, he [Wenger] has found availability to be extremely limited.”

It’s certainly not the news that the majority of fans will want to hear and no doubt should the Gunners struggle in their next league match (v Stoke) it won’t take much for many of those fans to make their displeasure heard.
