Arsène Wenger has told the media that Arsenal should more or less be at full strength against Stoke City on Saturday.

Speaking at his press conference on Thursday morning, the Arsenal boss confirmed that Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny are back while no players have suffered setbacks on international duty.

The Gunners had a number of stars representing their countries, including Mesut Özil, Alexis Sánchez and Aaron Ramsey, who played 450 minutes between them during the international break.

Laurent Koscielny did not play for France in their latest game against Serbia but any fears over another injury with his back have been dismissed. The Frenchman missed last month’s match against Liverpool but should be fine for the weekend. Per Mertesacker missed Arsenal’s last two games through illness but the German is now back in full training and is sure to be chosen against the Potters. Arsenal are, of course, without Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Danny Welbeck. Wilshere is due back in the near future, though he has suffered a setback, while it will still be a matter of months for Rosicky and Welbeck, who have both required knee surgery.

Nonetheless, Arsenal are close to a clean bill of health, and that will certainly reassure Arsenal fans.
