15-year-old winger Reiss Nelson scored and assisted for England u17s as they beat San Marino 8-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

The teenager missed Arsenal’s UEFA Youth League win against Olympiacos at Boreham Wood as he was playing for the national team in a Euro u17 qualifier.

San Marino were the opponents for England’s first qualifier, and the Three Lions comfortably won the game with the Arsenal man scoring and assisting twice before being subbed off after 55 minutes.

Reiss Nelson is highly rated at Arsenal, already playing for the u19 team in the UEFA Youth League even though he doesn’t turn 16 until December. Impressing at international level will only do his growing reputation good, and it’s nice to see yet another homegrown talent doing well.

Last week Nelson scored as Arsenal u18s won a north London derby, but was missing for Tuesday’s UEFA Youth League game.

Midfielder Savvas Mourgos replaced Nelson on Tuesday, with the Arsenal u19s winning 3-2 to stay top of the group with a 100% record.
