Arsenal’s poor home form and in the Champions League continues with a humiliating 3-2 loss to Olympiacos.

The high-tempo game should have been a straight forward win for the Gunners. However poor individual performances combined with a generally lethargic display meant we were thoroughly outplayed and embarrassed.

Although Ospina will, deservedly, take a lot of the blame, the disconnect between our midfield and attack was palpable, and our defending was ridiculous.

David Ospina – -1

The Colombian had no redeeming qualities in his game. The drop on the wrong side of the line would be laughable if he wasn’t an Arsenal player.

Hector Bellerin – 6

Although he offered a lot going forward at times and put in some decent crosses, it just wasn’t enough.

Gabriel – 6

At times, the Brazilian needs to communicate better with Mertesacker to avoid mix-ups and getting in each other’s way. He also needs to learn to keep calm; his yellow card and subsequent flare-up was unnecessary.

Kieran Gibbs – 5.5

The defender offered little going forward and was stagnant. He was also caught ball watching for their third goal and was lucky to not get sent off after punching the ball off the line for their second.

Laurent Koscielny – 5.5

The Frenchman wasn’t doing too badly until he did his hamstring at the end of the first half.

Santi Cazorla – 6

Cazorla and Coquelin simply don’t work well together. When Ramsey came on, the Spaniard perked up a little but despite this he had no standout moments, which is rare.

Francis Coquelin – 5.5

The midfielder almost gave me a heart attack when he ‘cleared’ the ball towards our goal in the first half.

Mesut Ozil – 6

The midfielder was unusually quiet despite a couple of bits of early skill.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 5

The forward missed an early chance and then proceeded to disappear. He could be responsible for an OG also, although that remains to be seen.

Alexis Sanchez – 6.5

The Chilean used his speed on the break, scored a good header and his assist for Walcott’s goal was top class.

Theo Walcott – 6

The striker scored an Henry-esque (that’s the popular term, right?) goal and was using the space well.

No standout moments.
