Petr Cech has revealed how delighted he is with how Arsenal have responded to their opening day defeat to West Ham by channeling his inner Eric Cantona to describe the situation.

Speaking to Arsenal player, the shotstopper said “I think if you spill the milk or coffee in your kitchen you don’t just let it lay there, you wipe it off and clean it.

“It is the same thing when you do something wrong, you just take the first opportunity to make this right and correct it.

“This is the only way. When you know the world well, you are prepared and if a bad game happens it is probably part of football and you need to understand that.

“I had a great pre-season, I was feeling well going into the game, excited to play my first home game. Then obviously the game did not go according to plan for everybody, particularly me.

“But we recovered from there and it was good to see the reaction of the team because it was a big blow as we had wanted to start on a winning note.”

Cech could set a cleansheet record next weekend in what is a massive game against his former side. The Czech is currently just one behind David James’ 169 after keeping Stoke out on Saturday.

With Chelsea struggling for form and points, Jose Mourinho will be hopeful of continuing his excellent record against Arsene Wenger but with the Gunners breaking his hoodoo at Wembley in the Community Shield before the start of the season, Arsenal will go there with a stronger sense of belief in themselves.

Many are concerned that the pressure on Chelsea will see them want to prove a point against Arsenal but that could be exactly what results in their downfall as they abandon their bus in search of the win.

Well, we can but hope but I know I’m not the only one who thinks back to David Moyes’ season with United when every side on the planet seemed capable of beating them yet we still conspired to lose.
