Arsenal midfielder Mesut Özil started both of Germany’s games over the past week as the world champions successfully negotiated tricky fixtures.

Prior to the latest international break, Germany found themselves behind Poland in their European Championships qualifying group, but put that right with a 3-1 win in Frankfurt on Friday evening.

That was followed up by the 3-2 defeat of Scotland on Monday, and Mesut Özil seems quietly impressed by the results his side achieved.

Now Germany find themselves on the brink of qualification for Euro 2016, and Özil will be looking to add another medal to the World Cup win last summer.

The best news for Arsenal fans is that, after a knee injury kept him out of the Premier League win over Newcastle United, Özil came through both Germany games without a setback and should be fit for Saturday’s visit of Stoke City.
