After hailing Alexis Sanchez’s performance in the Premier League against Leicester in which he scored a hat-trick, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has also praised the Chilean’s zest and passion for football.

Speaking ahead of our Champions League clash against Olympiacos, the Ox revealed how the forward’s upbeat personality has been fantastic in the dressing room.

“He’s very passionate, very upbeat and is a massive character in the team,” the Ox said. “For someone who doesn’t have amazing English, he manages to communicate so well to all of us and keep the dressing room upbeat. That’s what I mean by his mannerisms and how positive he is around the team.”

The midfielder also mentioned Alexis’ love of football in general and how this impacts positively on the team.

“He’s someone that loves football, just loves playing and being involved in and around football,” the youngster said. “That comes out in training.”

Having Alexis on the team has clearly had a positive impact on everyone at the club and the work rate of the Chilean appears to be rubbing off on the other players.

It’s fantastic that we have a player like him at the club for the youngsters to look up to and truly learn from. He seems to radiate professionalism and is exactly what some of our less experienced squad members need. It gives them something to aim for and aspire to.
