After suffering an injury against Barcelona two weeks ago, Wojciech Szczesny returned to the Roma team on Tuesday night.

Back in London, David Ospina dropped a corner over his own line and Szczesny didn’t do too much better.

The Pole played well in the game against Barcelona as Roma earned a point from their opening group game, but was caught way out of position as BATE Borisov scored their second goal on the way to a 3-0 half-time lead.

The Serie A side did manager something of a comeback in the second half, but ended the game with nothing after losing 3-2.

With Barcelona in the group, Roma are very much playing for second place. Bayer Leverkusen are their main competition and the Germans almost beat the current holders at Camp Nou on Tuesday before goals from Sergi Roberto and Luis Suárez sunk them.

Next up, Szczesny and Roma face back-to-back games against Leverkusen in the two fixtures which will almost certainly decide the fate of the two clubs.

Hopefully he fares better in those games than he did this week.
