When Manchester United are buying an uncapped 19 year-old Frenchman for more than Arsenal paid for Alexis Sánchez something is clearly not right with the transfer window.

Tottenham have just one striker, Liverpool spent £32m on Christian Benteke and Chelsea brought Radamel Falcao in on loan.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have Olivier Giroud, Alexis, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott.

Now none of those players, played as a striker, are truly of the standard of club legend Thierry Henry but the Frenchman has explained why a possible deal for Karim Benzema this summer wasn’t possible.

It seems far too easy to criticise the club but tempting Benzema (or Edinson Cavani, for that matter) away from Madrid (or Paris) and convincing their clubs to sell is no walk in the park. Just hear Henry out.
