Chris Willock impressed in the u19 side’s win in Zagreb on Wednesday, drawing very high praise from Andries Jonker.

Often played on the wing, Willock was used in a free central role in the game and impressed, scoring an impressive solo goal and winning a penalty in the 2-0 win.

“We have high expectations of Chris,” said Jonker after the game.

“We know he’s a very, very talented player who can decide a match. He did that but he has to develop as well.

“I have a lot of confidence in the potential we have already,” the head of the Arsenal academy continued, “We didn’t need this game to tell me that, but it confirms that we have got a good group. We agreed that we would focus on the next match straight away and the next match is Olympiacos at home. That’s the one to win.”
