Four Premier League games so far this season and Arsenal have scored three own goals.

Wait, let me try again.

Arsenal have scored one goal and had two own goals scored for them.

The Gunners have struggled badly in front of the goal at the start of the season but that hasn’t stopped Arsenal.com from holding a vote for goal of the month. As two of our Premier League goals were own goals, Olivier Giroud’s strike against Crystal Palace only faced competition from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s effort from the Community Shield win against Chelsea.

Giroud’s acrobatic effort at Selhurst Park was up against a pretty impressive challenger but came out on top with over 56% of the vote.

For some reason Arsène Wenger then dropped the Frenchman for Theo Walcott for the visit to St. James’ Park which, once more, saw Arsenal find the back of the net thanks to an own goal.

Anyway, the season is still young. Hopefully Arsenal, and Giroud, can score many more over the coming months to propel a title challenge.
