Mesut Ozil has recovered from the knee injury that kept him out of action for Arsenal at Newcastle and will play for Germany in their Euro 2016 qualifiers.
At the time, Arsene Wenger stated that the injury did not seem to be serious and would only keep him out of action for around a week and, unlike most updates we get about Arsenal’s players when they’re injured, this one has proven to be spot on.
In regards to the injury itself, “Mesut has a slight irritation of the patellar tendon. We’re confident he should be ready for the game,” Germany assistant coach Thomas Schneider said at a press conference on Tuesday.
According to the official German twitter feed, Ozil trained with the side and will play.
With 13 points from their first six games in Group D, Germany will be hopeful of collecting maximum points against Poland on Friday (and overhauling the Poles as group leaders) and Scotland on Tuesday in the 2016 qualifiers, but whether Ozil starts either game remains to be seen.
