The Evening Standard’s team of the week includes three Arsenal players, five from West Ham and three from Crystal Palace.

Interestingly, none from Chelsea, fancy that.

All three teams of the players included won their matches, with West Ham winning away 3-0 away to Liverpool and the Eagles beating Chelsea 2-1.

Arsenal scraped a narrow victory 1-0 against Newcastle at St. James’ Park thanks to a deflected shot from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

However, it’s not the Ox who’s made the team, but centre-back Gabriel, who stood in for Per Mertesacker and did a solid job, earning him a rating of 7.83; Santi Cazorla, who’s now created the most chances out of anyone in the league (16), with a rating of 7.62; and Alexis, who is superb as always with a rating of 8.21.

Gabriel in particular really deserves his place in the London team of the week, having to come into the match against Liverpool unprepared and then perform again a week later.

The defender’s doing a great job.
