Stoke fans will be wincing as Jonathan Moss has been appointed the referee for Saturday’s game at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal take on Stoke City at home at 3pm on Saturday, and the Gunners have a fine record under Moss.

In ten games that he has overseen Arsenal have won on every single occasion, with Moss most notably calling the FA Cup final defeat of Aston Villa back in May. That day Villa were denied at least two penalty appeals, and it isn’t the only time he has decided to give a call in Arsenal’s favour.

Gunners have been booked just 11 times by Moss, while opposition sides have seen 22 yellow cards in those games. In the same fashion zero red cards have been handed out to Arsenal players, while the opposition have seen two red cards and two penalties given against them when facing Arsenal with Moss in the middle.

In twelve matches Moss has never awarded Stoke a penalty while dishing out 29 yellow cards to the Potters and two penalties to their opponents.

Arsenal fans can’t complain too much at this appointment and, having already given two reds and two penalties in three Premier League games this season (including sending off Carl Jenkinson), Moss doesn’t seem to be shying away from making big calls this season.

Should Stoke employ their usual disgusting tactics, he will hopefully put his foot down.
