A study run by Soccerex has seen two Arsenal defenders ranked in the top 20 young players in Europe.

Calum Chambers and Héctor Bellerín are still just 20 years of age but have impressed for the Gunners over the past year. Chambers is now considered a worthy understudy for world champion Per Mertesacker, while Bellerín is the first choice right-back at the club despite the signing of France international Mathieu Debuchy last summer.

To determine the highest ranked players in the world, Soccerex used the ‘Football Value Index’, which is reportedly popular with clubs around Europe. ChronicleLive looked at a blurb from a report back in July to find this description of the Football Value Index:

“The Football Value Index by Prime Time Sport is a best in class player valuation methodology, used by football clubs and the sport industry, to obtain an independent and accurate valuation of football players.”

A completely independent and unbiased view ranks our two defenders that highly we can’t be doing too much wrong, and Bellerín was actually the only right-back to feature on the list.
