Arsenal are reportedly going to battle Manchester City for Real Madrid’s Isco.

The 23-year-old has been struggling to get game time at the La Liga giants and with Arsenal reportedly in the market for a goalscorer during the next transfer window, apparently we’re interested.

This season, the midfielder has only featured twice for Madrid but last year he appeared 53 times, scoring six goals, which suggests he’s still part of Rafael Benitez’s plans.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been linked with the Spaniard but, if rumours are to be believed, rivals Manchester City also want to obtain the midfielder, who has worked with Manuel Pellegrini before and would be able to offer him a more lucrative paycheck.

Midfield isn’t a position we’ll be looking to add to any time soon. We have an abundance of talent who don’t look as if they’re going anywhere and spending what will probably be a monumental amount of money on someone we don’t really need is exactly the opposite of how Arsene Wenger works.
