Arsenal look set to welcome Per Mertesacker back into the side this weekend while Laurent Koscielny is expected to be fit to play despite a recurrence of his back problem.

The BFG has missed the past two games with an unspecified virus but it seems as if the international break has allowed him time to recover fully.

Koscielny, meanwhile, was only on the bench for France’s game against Serbia on Monday night as he suffered more pain in his back as both club and country attempt to manage the problem – words that aren’t all that reassuring really.

Both players are training and should be fit for selection when the Orcs rock into town on their Wargs this weekend.

In other good news, Jeremy Wilson from the Telegraph believes that Jack Wilshere will resume training next week after recovering from a hairline fracture to his left fibula, an injury that was picked up in training, allegedly inflicted by Gabriel.
