Arsenal target Arturo Vidal has been sent home from the Chile training camp after turning up under the influence of alcohol.

A couple of months ago, the Bayern Munich man crashed his sports car while over the recommended alcohol limit, resulting in his driving license being revolved.

The allegations are concerning, although it’s important to note that, at this moment in time, the player refutes certain claims about the incident.

Chile coach, Jorge Sampaoli, has apparently issued Vidal with his last chance, which heavily implied that this isn’t an isolated incident.

The midfielder, however, doesn’t deny turning up to training under the influence, saying,

“Of course I am upset because you are dirtying my image and I think that I am playing on one of the best teams in the world and this affects me a lot.

“I would prefer it if you would be more kind to me in Chile, but some people just want to drag me through the mud,” he continued.

“It is for family problems and nothing more. The coach understood me and I am leaving on a positive note and I hope to return for [World Cup 2018] qualifying.”

The Chilean FA’s official comment on the matter is that Vidal has been dismissed due to ‘personal problems’.

The 28-year-old midfielder was rumoured to be signing for both us and United during the summer. However, rumours that we were bidding for the £21m Chilean was quickly squashed and a transfer to the Red Devils never happened either.

Everyone at Daily Cannon wishes Vidal all the best fighting whatever demons he may or may not have.
