Injury-prone Arjen Robben has suffered another setback while on international duty.

The winger sustained the injury for the Netherlands on Thursday evening and will be sidelined for four weeks, so should return ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League visit to the Emirates Stadium.

Last season Robben scored 17 goals in 21 Bundesliga games and was the catalyst for a Bayern victory last time they visited London. With the game at 0-0 and Arsenal impressing, Robben won a penalty which saw Wojciech Szczesny sent off and basically decided the game, with Arsenal playing with ten men against Pep Guardiola’s dominant possession style.

The last time Robben suffered an injury was back in March. A nasty tackle from Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Tony Jantschke saw Robben ruled out for months after he was initially rushed back. As it stands he should be absolutely fine for the trip to London but, should Bayern attempt to rush their star man back into action once again, he may not make it.

Arsenal will have high hopes of qualifying from the group, but a strong result will be needed in that home game on 20th October if Arsène Wenger’s men are to have any chance of actually winning the group.
