Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom has already impressed on his loan spell at Championship side Hull City, having scored two goals in his first three matches with the Tigers.

The 19-year-old enjoyed an encouraging pre-season campaign with our first-team side earlier on in the summer but with the likes of Giroud, Welbeck and Walcott ahead of him in the pecking order, it’s hardly a surprise he was sent out on another loan spell, despite Wenger denying he would.

According to London24, his new temporary boss Steve Bruce is already impressed by his progress as well as the potential he possesses to flourish in the not-too-distant future.

When asked about Chuba’s potential and whether he could develop into a world-class player soon, Bruce was not short of compliments for the promising forward.

“Chuba has a chance, doesn’t he? Wow!” Bruce stated. “He has a lot to do and a lot to learn but, in terms of raw talent, you don’t have to watch him long to realise the natural ability that he has – only a few are blessed with that.”

Having progressed through the youth ranks with Arsenal, Akpom is one of the club’s most exciting talents. Not only because he’s blessed with pace and an eye for goal but also because he loves giving teams a handful and his unpredictable array of skills make him a nightmare to defend against.

With a goal on his debut against Huddersfield as well as a strike in their League Cup 1st Round fixture, Akpom could have scored in three consecutive matches but was not on the scoresheet in their 1-1 draw with Wolves this past weekend. Bruce though, stated it’s been a wonderful start for him, and the league will help him establish his credentials as he’s got an “outstanding chance because of his ability.”

As long as he continues his goal-scoring form, it’ll do wonders for his confidence. He’s got all the makings of a quality striker, and you’d expect it wouldn’t be too long before he replicates those performances for the first-team.
