Following our draw with Liverpool at the Emirates on Monday, Brendan Rodgers has praised our goalkeeper’s crucial saves.

In the first half, Petr Cech pulled off some truly unreal saves.

For the first, he managed to get low to the ground in a split second to prevent Christian Benteke scoring what should have have been a simple tap-in.

Just minutes later, the Czech launched himself out to his left in order to save a curling shot from Philippe Coutinho, which the goalie just managed to get his fingertips to in order to push into the post and safely out of play.

“Cech had a period of 10 to 15 minutes when he made some magnificent saves,” Rodgers said. “Congratulations to the keeper.”

The manager was also quick to praise his own goalkeeper.

“Simon Mignolet had to make some good saves as well of course.”

Simon Mignolet made a number of decent saves in the second half after we ramped up our energy another level.

At the end of the match, both keepers managed to prevent the opposition from scoring, despite the visitors having eight shots on target and Arsenal having five.
