With Liverpool visiting the Emirates Stadium, Arsène Wenger has a few choices to make ahead of Monday night.

After a disappointing loss to West Ham United, Wenger named the same team that beat Liverpool 4-1 last season for the win over Crystal Palace last Sunday.

They won and, with everyone still available, you would expect them to play again.

No doubt Petr Čech will remain in goal, and Arsenal’s first-choice defence of Héctor Bellerín, Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal will start in front of the Czech stopper.

In midfield Francis Coquelin will surely start despite walking something of a tightrope at Selhurst Park, as Mikel Arteta is yet to fully prove his fitness. Santi Cazorla will partner him, as that role doesn’t seem to suit Aaron Ramsey – the Welshman will have to reprise his free role from the right flank.

Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez must start, which leaves just one place in the side, surely to be claimed by Olivier Giroud, who scored the opener against Palace.

Wenger trusted this XI a lot towards the end of last season, and is unlikely to have his head turned by the availability of Mikel Arteta, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott, despite Brendan Rodgers’ propensity to adopt a high line.
