At a recent question and answer session, Mesut Ozil was asked who he preferred playing with on the pitch between Cristiano Ronaldo and Alexis Sanchez and, of course, the midfielder went for the diplomatic answer.

The German thought carefully before answering that, as we all know, both forwards are completely different types of player and that he likes playing with both.

“They are two different players,” he said. “Ronaldo is a player who scores a lot of goals and Alexis is a player that plays for the team. You see that in the game, he runs a lot for the team, fights for the team.

“I just enjoy playing with these players, they are both great players for me”.

Ozil played with Ronaldo at Real Madrid for three years before he transferred to Arsenal and nabbed an almighty 81 assists during his time there.

Although he’s only played with Alexis for one season so far, it’s plain to see that if both continue to play with one another, even more assists will come. In addition, the 26-year-old is correct, Alexis is a different player. The Chilean drives play forward and his work rate is astounding.

It’s difficult to compare the players when their style of play is so different.
